April 7th is World Health Day, a time to reflect on how we continue to redefine health—both individually and as communities. This date was chosen to mark the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. Since then, global health has evolved in powerful ways.
Today, we understand that true health is holistic—it includes physical, nutritional, emotional, mental, environmental, and social well-being. At OSO Wellness, we honor World Health Day by encouraging you to reflect on your total health—not just in terms of illness or wellness, but in terms of balance and sustainability.
Your Personal Health Check-In
This month, we invite you to do a quick 360° health scan. Consider asking yourself the following:
🩺 When was the last time I had a physical, dental check-up, or eye exam?
🌍 Are there parts of my neighborhood that create health risks? (e.g., unsafe infrastructure, poor lighting, limited pedestrian access)
🏞 Are there wellness resources nearby I’m not using? (e.g., local parks, trails, community centers, or libraries)
📱 Does my social media use support or harm my mental health?
🧹 Is there a small annoyance I could fix to reduce stress? (e.g., clutter, unfinished tasks)
🔄 Is there a habit I’d like to break—or pick back up?
Negative habits: smoking, excessive caffeine, screen overuse
Positive habits: walking, stretching, journaling, outdoor time
🎉 What progress have I made in the past 12 months—big or small?
🚨 Am I ignoring a problem that needs attention? (e.g., strained relationships, burnout, health concerns, financial stress)
Take One Small Step
Your answers can offer insight into how balanced your life currently feels. If your list shows more challenges than strengths, try making just one small, manageable change today—something simple that helps you feel more in control or cared for.
Sometimes, even identifying a problem brings a sense of relief. But if reflection leaves you feeling overwhelmed or stuck, please know that you don’t have to manage it alone.
OSO Wellness is here to support you—wherever you are in your health journey.
