We can probably all agree—college can be overwhelming.

Between exams, papers, discussion boards, group projects, campus obligations, and just trying to show up day-to-day, it’s easy to feel stretched too thin. Many college students find themselves burning out while also juggling their personal lives, relationships, and work. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

At OSO Wellness, we want to remind you that your mental health matters just as much as your GPA. The good news? With small, consistent practices, you can reduce stress and take better care of yourself through this demanding chapter of life.

Tips to Support Your Mental Health in College

🌿 1. Practice Self-Care

If you’re constantly exhausted or hitting burnout, it's time to pause and nourish yourself. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival. Try going for a walk, listening to music, stretching, journaling, meditating, reading a favorite book, or just doing something that feeds your soul. Make space for moments of calm.

🗂 2. Stay Organized

A cluttered schedule can quickly become a cluttered mind. Studies show that structured environments and routines help lower anxiety. Using a planner or digital calendar to track your assignments, exams, and self-care time can create a healthier balance and reduce stress.

🤝 3. Ask for Help

There’s strength in seeking support. Whether it’s reaching out to a trusted friend, joining a support group, or connecting with a therapist, asking for help is a brave and powerful step. Your college may also offer free mental health services—don’t hesitate to use them.

🚧 4. Set Healthy Boundaries

"You can't pour from an empty cup." This reminder is especially relevant in college. Learn to say no when your plate is full. Boundaries protect your energy and help you show up as your best self. Feeling guilty is normal—but caring for your well-being is essential.

College is a time of growth, challenge, and transformation. You don’t have to navigate it all alone. Whether you're thriving or struggling, OSO Wellness is here to support you with compassionate, nonjudgmental care.
